Consistent Managed VPS

This is my third time using WebHosting UK for Managed VPS Hosting. I came back because my previous experiences were good. This time was no different. The server was set up quickly, and my data migration was handled without any fuss by their support team. It's reliable, and I haven't had any downtime issues across my different projects. They've been consistently good, which is why I keep renewing with them.

Smooth WordPress hosting experience

I needed new hosting for a client's WordPress site, so I tried their WordPress Hosting. Ordering was straightforward, and the setup guides were helpful. I migrated the site myself, and it went smoothly. Support answered a quick question about nameservers in under 10 minutes via live chat. Performance has been solid, no complaints about speed or uptime. It's a reliable choice if you're hosting WordPress.

Easy to get a .com

I needed a new .com Domain Name for a side project. The process was super easy. Just searched, added to cart, and checked out. No drama, which is always nice when you just want to get something done. Glad it worked out.

Decent VPS, minor hiccup

I got a Linux VPS for a dev environment. The provisioning was pretty fast, and the server specs were as advertised. Performance is good for the price I paid. My only minor gripe was that the initial SSH login details took an extra hour to come through compared to the welcome email. Customer service confirmed it was just a slight delay. Overall, it's a solid service and good value, but that small wait was a bit annoying.

Thinking of moving my small e-commerce site (WooCommerce) over to WebHosting UK. Currently on a different host and dealing with slow load times, especially during peak hours. Anyone using their WooCommerce Hosting? How's the performance and support?

V Vikram 4 days ago ✓ Best Answer
I've been on their WooCommerce hosting for about 8 months now. Performance is decent, definitely better than my previous host (HostGator). I have about 500 products and it handles traffic spikes pretty well. Support is 24/7, which is a big plus for an e-commerce site.

They offer free site migrations. Just give them your old host details and they usually sort it out. Mine was pretty seamless.

Good to hear about the 24/7 support. Had a bad experience with another host where support was only during UK business hours.

Is it easy to migrate a WooCommerce site? Mine's quite complex.

N Neha 4 days ago
I'm on their cPanel Shared Hosting, not specific WooCommerce, but generally, their servers are fast. Make sure you pick a plan with enough resources for your store. WooCommerce can be resource-heavy.

Good point. I'll probably go for one of the higher-tier WooCommerce plans to be safe.

Any new customer discounts for those higher plans?

K Karan 4 days ago
I use their Managed WordPress hosting, which is pretty similar for WooCommerce. Speeds are good, especially with the SSDs. Haven't had any major downtime issues. The uptime guarantee seems legit.

K Karan 4 days ago
I think it's 99.9% like most good hosts. Never had to claim it though.

What's the uptime guarantee on their site? I keep forgetting to check.

Renewal price for my cPanel shared hosting just came through, and it's quite a bit higher than the introductory offer. Anyone else notice this? Wondering if there are any secret renewal discount codes floating around, or if it's just the standard jump.

R Rahul87 1 month ago ✓ Best Answer
Sometimes they send out renewal promo codes closer to the expiry date if you don't auto-renew. Might be worth waiting till the last minute and seeing if anything pops up in your email.

I usually just switch hosts every year or two to keep getting those new customer deals. It's a hassle migrating but saves a good chunk of cash. Free site migrations help with that though.

S Sneha 1 month ago
Depends on your site size, but they usually handle it within a day or two for shared hosting. They're pretty good with the free migration service.

R RajeshK 1 month ago
That's a lot of work. How long does a migration usually take with WebHosting UK?
2
P Priya 1 month ago
Yeah, that's pretty standard with most hosts. They hook you in with a low first-year price. I tried asking support for a renewal discount last year and they just said no, that was the rate.

Did you try canceling and then re-subscribing with a new account? Heard some people do that.

Looking at WebHosting UK versus Krystal Hosting. Anyone got experience with both? What's the main difference or reason to pick one over the other?

T Todd Reyes 2 months ago
I've used both. Krystal feels a bit more premium on the support side, but WebHosting UK is solid, especially for the price and if you really want those UK data centres without fuss. Both are good though.
4
D Dana Okafor 2 months ago
For me, WebHosting UK felt a bit more straightforward, especially for shared hosting. Krystal is also good, but WebHosting UK's pricing for introductory offers is often better if you're on a budget. Both have good uptime so it might come down to specific features you need.

How reliable is their 24/7 support really? Like, if I have an issue at 3 AM, will someone actually be there?

D Dan Walsh 2 months ago
I've used their support a few times, even late at night, and always got a response. Sometimes it takes a little while, but someone's always there.

They advertise 24/7 support and in my experience, it's true. They're pretty good about getting back to you, even for weird issues.

Is a free domain included with their plans? Or do you have to buy it separately?

I Ivy 2 months ago
Some plans come with a free domain, usually the higher-tier ones or if they have a special offer on. It's not always standard with the basic shared hosting though, so check the plan details.

A Anna Vargas 2 months ago
I think they often have promos where a .uk domain is super cheap or even free for the first year with certain plans. Definitely worth checking the specific package you're looking at.

Are their servers actually in the UK? Some 'UK' companies host offshore and I want proper UK speeds.

M Mark 2 months ago
Yep, all their data centres are definitely in the UK. That's one of their main selling points, keeping everything local.
3
M Mark Romero 2 months ago
Can confirm, they boast about their UK data centers quite a bit. Good for latency if your audience is primarily UK based.

Thinking of switching over. My current host is a nightmare to move sites from. Does WebHosting UK help with migrations, or is it all on me?

N Nick V. 2 months ago
They do free migrations! I used them to move my WordPress site last year and it was pretty smooth. Just had to give them access and they handled most of it.
6
T Troy Kaur 2 months ago
Yeah, they offer free site migrations. I'd still have a backup just in case, but they usually take care of it.

What payment methods do they take? Like PayPal, or is it just cards?

J James 2 months ago
I'm pretty sure they take PayPal, I paid with it last time. And obviously credit/debit cards are fine too.

K Kevin R. 2 months ago
Yeah, cards are a given. I think PayPal is also an option, which is handy.
